We have a strong focus on the arts within the school. Role play and drama are common in classrooms. Children take part in productions, music festivals and other inter-school challenges.
We also regularly run extension groups in visual arts for all age groups. Guitar tutoring is available during school and we have a Kapa Haka group that meets weekly.
Our School is privileged to have the very talented Jess Murrihy on our staff. She has taken dance extension groups of a number of our children over this year and they have produced some great performances.
Our students from Year 1 through to Year 3 performed in their very first Polyfest in September, and the children's four items were all very impressive.
Our Senior School students provided the audience with a very passionate performance of a variety of Mãori waiata.
The many hours of rehearsal by both our staff and children prior to this great cultural event was evident in both our groups' performances, and we were very proud of all the children.
We are very proud of all the children that produced art work for the 2015 Bayfield High School Peninsula Art Exhibition.
Our talented children used a range of media to create work that portrayed the theme 'Seasons'.
A special congratulations to Niamh Crooks who was awarded first prize for our school's display.
We would also like to congratulate Nikus Stamou and Charlotte Campbell whose work was highly commended.
These children all received a prize at the prize giving.
